Since Renown sold in our 2016 sale to Ter-Ron Farms and Canadian Sires for $75,000, Renown has become a big time herd sire both in Canada and South America. His sons and daughters have topped sales across the land, including a $25,000 high selling bred heifer at MRL last fall. His sons are full of muscle and performance with foot and leg structure that is second to none. Renown adds one more stunning maternal cow to Reckoning’s pedigree! Malbec was selected by Genex in our 2017 sale for $46,000 . He is a moderate framed, very complete herdbull with generous depth , eye appeal and superior muscle pattern. Heston is a herd bull Rob Holowaychuck selected for us at Howe’s sale in 2017. When Rob called it was very obvious how “taken” he was with this bull and his dam. We used him successfully on both heifers and cows. He has done a marvelous job siring his type and stamping his progeny with his impressive muscle shape, depth and character! His female calves look just as strong and he definitely adds performance as you will see in this strong sire group. Hesston provides an outcross opportunity to much of our herd and bulls our customers have purchased in the past.

Riff was our high seller in 2016 for $102,500. Semen packages went everywhere from Montana to Texas in the US and everyone we’ve talked to “love their Riff calves”. Y-Coulee’s high seller last year was a Riff son. Riff is as unique a herd sire as you’ll find with so much character and natural thickness all wrapped up in a super appealing dark cherry red hair coat. He surprisingly has amazing CE potential. His dam is a front pasture favorite that contributes her donor quality and balance to give the female progeny that cut above! The 2019 set of Riff sons has one problem, quantity – there’s not enough of them!

Our pick from our good friends at Y-Coulee’s 2016 bull sale where he was the high seller. After touring the cow herd and seeing his strong productive dam, Cole decided that 653C was the dark red Authentic son that we needed to own. Since then, we have been impressed with his breeding ability and blown away with the consistent bone, hip shape, big foot and Angus character he passes onto his progeny. Some of our stoutest bulls are in this sire group! His heifer calves appear to be cowy young females that will turn into easy-doing, broody maternal young cows. 653C is the herd bull we are going to continue the Copenhagen legacy with for years to come.

Their dam, Erelite 109Z is our top donor here and #1 black cow in all categories. She is admired by all visitors and now after calving the first set of Coalition daughters we can say she is the most influential cow to walk our pastures. Fancy fronted with depth of body, length, big hipped and perfect teat size and positioning these daughters have people talking. Coalition is now the lead black Angus bull for 360 Beef in the US. U2 is the only source for Coalition sons in Canada.

Prime Cut was the high selling bull at Hinman’s 2015 sale for $70,000 USD. We looked long and hard for over three years before finding this obvious herd bull candidate that stood out from the crowd. After viewing his moderate, deep bodied, beautifully uddered dam, we knew the search was over! Prime Cut was used heavily and successfully on a wide range of heifers and cows. He has provided us with reliable calving ease plus predictable performance and passes on his muscle shape, depth and perfect head carriage. We couldn’t be happier with his progeny, both male and female. Visitors again this summer were fascinated by both the broody, stout and fancy fronted heifer calves and the cocky, wide topped, thick butted bull calves. We are confident that these fresh pedigreed new generation genetics are a huge part of an optimistic future of our program. We now have our second group of daughters milking and they are all what we expected and more. Sound, beautifully uddered deep bodied females that will stand the test of time.
